I could only get ahead of the curve sitting in the bastion. However, without scorched earth, I couldn't keep what I was taking and kept falling behind in the resource gathering curve, losing robots faster than I was accumulating resources. Then, after blowing up all of the remaining northern robot bases, I could finally sneak in an attack force and capture its base when all its robots were off on another doomed assault. This reduced the amount of robots the dominators could build to the point that, when they had their entire capacity off being blown up in one direction, I could capture the bottom right base. The eleventh robot was a bomb and, gradually, I blew up every other supply base. Defenders generally survived each wave without loss. Defenders were ten of my eleven robot limit. Each enemy approach involved climbing a hill, which gave enough time for missle turrets and three robots backed by two repair robots to kill each wave. I stuck to defending a tiny four base bastion with only two paths to approach. Normally you get to a point where they clearly run out of resources, but in this case they seemed to have a bottomless pit.
The northern robots were simply uncrackable and no matter how many I mowed down they just kept coming. Keller and Blazer are the other forces on the island.įinally I solved it, but it was several restarts and over five hours of game time fopr the successful attempt - I doubt it could be much faster on a repeat. You have to use one of the two robots to capture the adjacent undefended base.
That's the battle from the add-on set with the navigation sphere that ruins navigation and you start with two robots, separated by an impassible wreck. I'm generally able to figure out the planetary battles fairly quickly, but 'Sphere' cost me the weekend.
